By 1979, new wave had washed ashore in Hawaii. Quick to take note was Kit Ebersbach, whose ever-curious ears were intrigued by the genre’s quirky tendencies.

New wave's cohort of oft-humorous songwriters offered just the ticket to Kit’s next destination: The Tourists, a short-lived group formed by Kit and friends that performed covers of Devo, Talking Heads, The Clash, and Bryan Ferry.

This rare, live recording of the group was captured sometime in 1979 at the Jazz Cellar, Waikiki, and Pirate Bully Hayes, Pearl City.
